오늘 샘플 라이팅 주제는 '렌팅'입니다. 

렌팅을 하려고 예약을 했는데 기일에 맞춰 들어가지 못하는 상황에서

집주인에게 편지를 쓰도록 하는 문제가 출제된 경우입니다. ^^

해외에서 유학생활을 하거나 해외 워킹홀리 데이 등등 하다보면 발생할 만한 일이겠죠^^

그럴 때 어떤 '핑계'를 대면 좋을지 상상해 보시면 됩니다 ~

아이엘츠 스피킹, 라이팅이 어려운 이유 중에 하나가 

Brain Storming, 즉 아이디어가 잘 안떠올라서 더 시간을 잡아먹게 되는 경우도 많아요~

그래서 이런 거짓말 쯤은 자주 상상해주시면 좋답니다.

가장 좋은 변명으로는 '아프다', '가족 문제' 등등 더이상 이유가 필요 없는 이런 종류가 있어요~

아프다는데 뭐라고 하겠어요 ㅎㅎ

 

여기 샘플 라이팅에서도 이사 기일에 맞추어 가지 못하는 이유를 '다쳐서 회복기간이 필요하다' 고 편지를 썼습니다. 

 내용 읽어보시고 약간 변형해서 자기가 다쳤던 경험이나 비자 문제를 겪었던 경험 등을 메모해두면 좋을거 같아요~

Sample 1 1. You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.

 

 

You are due to move into a rented apartment next month but you will not be able to because you have some problems. Write a letter to the landlord.  In your letter:  explain your situation  describe your problems tell him/her when you think you can move in  Write at least 150 words.  You do NOT need to write any addresses.

 

 

 model answer: 

 

Dear Miss Berry, As you know, I have rented 41 George Roche Road from you for six months from 15th August. However, I am afraid I will no longer be able to move in on that date, as my plans have had to change because of illness. During the summer vacation, I was working in a company as a Project Manager. Towards the end of my shift, I slipped and fell on a wet floor and broke my wrist. Luckily, it was a clean break and didn't require surgery. However, it is my right wrist, and so I am unable to write for the time being. At present, I am at home in Kuala Lumpur until the plaster can be taken off – I think this should be in the last week of September. I will then return to my course in Canterbury and take up residence at 41 George Roche Road. I hope this will not cause you any difficulties.
